Richardton is a city in Stark County, North Dakota in the United States. The population was 529 at the 2010 census.[1] Richardton was founded in 1883. It is part of the Dickinson Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Richardton is home to the Assumption Abbey, a Benedictine Monastery.

There were 285 housing units at an average density of 776.6 per square mile (297.4/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 99.35% White, 0.16% African American, 0.16% Native American, 0.16% Asian, and 0.16% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.32% of the population.

There were 251 households out of which 28.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.0% were married couples living together, 3.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.7% were non-families. 29.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 3.00.

In the city the population was spread out with 25.0% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 21.8% from 25 to 44, 23.7% from 45 to 64, and 22.8% who were 65 years of age or older.
